Bee, this incredible creature, provides us with the healthiest food on earth: honey, an effective remedy for many kinds of diseases. In fact honey is particularly appreciated by the people of the coastal area of Syria for its properties and largely used in their everyday diet.

Being herself a honey consumer, Hanan has gained throughout her life a deep knowledge
of this product, its different qualities and benefits. This is why she decided to seize
the opportunity of the Village Business Incubator
(VBI) to set up her own bee keeping business in Ain al Tineh.

Hanan attended the VBI-led training cycle including entrepreneurship orientation, basic business management training followed by an intensive technical training in bee- keeping and honey extraction conducted by the Directorate of agriculture of Lattakia. The latter, in addition to developing her skills in processing and production provided her with lots of reliable contacts and information to ensure the correct management of her business from the technical point of view.

Despite the many difficulties and concerns Hanan, as a very determined woman, decided to take up a loan to buy the beehives. This experience reinforced her intention to become more independent and gain a solid reputation as entrepreneur and producer within the villages but also in the city market.
The village is looking forward to Hanan's produce, mainly best quality oak honey, produced in the calm and unpolluted environment of Ain al Tineh, the ideal context for bees to hive undisturbed.
