On the occasion of The Mother's Day, VBI entrepreneurs participated in a Bazaar organized by consortium of NGOs in Syria. Bazaar took place during March 11-12, 2009 at the Four Season Hotel in Damascus.16 VBI entrepreneurs exhibited their quality products, such as, Italian cheese and other dairy products, Women accessories, home fabrics, natural soap, medical herbs, natural silk fabrics, etc.11/3/2009
The Village Business Incubator organized workshop on "Bees' Diseases and Bee-Keeping Problems" during the period March 29-31, 2009.
The objective of the workshop was to identify problems encountering bee-keepers in the area that lead to the remarkable low production of honey, despite being a good environment for bee keeping, and try to collaboratively reach possible solutions.
Workshop was conducted by the Italian Expert, Ms. Claudia Bruschini. and the VBI forwarded the invitation to bee- keepers in Ain Al- Tineh, a number of national experts from Tishreen University and engineers from the agricultural directorate in Lattakia.1/7/2009
Dr. Ammar Suleman, the Owner of Mountain Breeze Resort in Kerdaha, granted the VBI entrepreneurs outlet in the resort in order to display and sell their products.

The VBI conducted awareness sessions in cooperation with the Syrian Family Planning Association on the reproductive health issues. The main items delivered during the sessions were woman's rights and her ability to take the decisions, the main role of the women's education in reducing the the early marriage and consultation before the marriage.
The sessions went on for four days attended by fifteen ladies from the VBI beneficiaries.

The Syrian consulting Bureau (SCB) certified the VBI Team on completion of a workshop on a "Training of Trainers" (TOT).

Technical assistance mission for the VBI staff on "Fair Trade", conducted by Sandra Endrizzi "Sourcing & Development - Handicraft Co-ordinator in Asia & Middle East for Altromercato". Mission lasted for 8 days.

The Village Business Incubator in cooperation with the Syrian Family Planning Association, organized awareness sessions for young people aged between 18 - 25 years from the target area of the VBI. The main theme of sessions was "The Reproductive Health".

New step towards enhancing the cooperation between the Syria Trust for Development "STD" and Jordanian Nour Al Husein Foundation "NHF", was a visit Ms. Hana Shaheen (the executive Manager of NHF) and Mr. Mohamad Al Zoubi ( Program Manager) to the VBI to exchange expertise and possible future cooperation.

The VBI 2009 annual Christmas Bazaar, took place at Kozah Art Gallery in the old city of Damascus. Twenty productive enterprises owned by skilled entrepreneurs exhibited their quality products that went with the Christmas spirit.
