2008 Achievements

·         36 Women have attended the  entrepreneurial orientation program and Business Management program .

·         Specialized technical training sessions of different duration were conducted to improve the skills of the VBI-supported entrepreneurs in natural soap making, beads embroidering, Italian cheese, and natural perfumes producing, sweet processing, food processing, jewels design. 

·         10 entrepreneurs prepared their own business plan and 7 of them were granted a loan to start up their businesses.

·         47 counseling sessions have been done.

·         technical assistance intervention of product development and design was conducted by national expert to improve hairdressing business.

·         A mobilization and information campaign was conducted by the VBI Local Promoters. More than 50 women were sensitized on the importance of female entrepreneurship.

·         The capacity of the VBI staff was strengthened through three technical assistance missions by the expert in enterprise development.

·         Training sessions for 20 women, on the first aid organized by the VBI in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, for three days, delivered by volunteers from the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.
